Hi, this is my first post. I have a question that Fake-Baker's might be able to help me with. I use Couture and have used Sunless Solutions prior to that. Can you tell me how many coats of Fake Bake you have to spray on? Couture and Sunless it is only one, but I have had two ladies who have had Fake Bake who said that they always had two coats. Can you help?

Thanks

hi there. i only use one coat of fake bake, now i do use their dark solution. if they require a second coat i do it the next day for them but i have only had to do a top up once as it has always been dark enough with one coat.:D

Thanks. From what you have said, two coats are not required unless there you do a top up? My two clients said that they had both coats one after the other. Both Couture and Sunless are one coat only.

Hi, I use Fake Bake for my clients and one coat is always enough.

Hiyaa, ive also only sprayed clients with one coat of fake bake unless its been a top up.
From personal experience doing one coat straight after another makes no difference to the over all tan apart from the coulour of the colour guide is darker, as fake bake configures with the skin to go to the skins natural tanning colour (the trainer did tell me why it did this but ive forgoten) so it would make no difference doing two coats in one session.

Hello.

I would say do two coats only to make sure you have covered all areas. The second coat doesnt make the outcome darker, only ensures all areas are covered.

Although once you've done a few spray tans then you dont need to do the second coat as you'll know you covered everywhere with the first one.

Gx

Hi

One coat is definately enough. Two is just eating into your profit and will not make the tan outcome darker. Good Luck :)

Thank you so much for your very helpful information. My two ladies were insistent that the second coat made them darker which I didn't think was right. When a different sprayer sprayed them she gave them only one coat, which is what I always do, and they felt that they were not as dark as normal which I thought was odd as one or two coats it should make a difference. Perhaps she used a different percentage of solution.

Anyway, thanks againf or all your help.

Much appreciated.

if they insist on two coats (which is daft cos 2 coats will not make you darker!!!!) then tel them they need to pay double.

in many cases you will get disappointed clients returning saying their guide colour was much darker than what it rinsed off to if you do two coats!

one coat is fine, you will not go any darker if you apply two coats. If the customer insists on doing two coats, charge them £5 extra

2 coats i prefere, fake bake say 1 coat is enuf but i always do 2 unless they think 1 is enuf (i ask the client)
i've had 1 coat once n it wasnt enuf for me there is defo a massive difference between 1 coat and 2coats x

The only difference you will notice is the guide colour is darker until you wash it off. It's a false economy. The tan itself wont be any darker unless you get them in 24 hrs later and respray. It is hard when clients insist they are sprayed twice because, 'such and such does it and it always turns out darker'.This is where we as the qualified ones come into our stride.HTH

i really do think it makes a difference with another coat on even after wash off, i've seen the results on myself, but this is my personal opinion and we do have clients that say they only want a 1 coat.
i know in training it says 1 coat though

Thank you again everyone for your responses. As mentioned earlier - I think - I am using Couture and have used Sunless and both say one coat only. My two clients said that the last time they went to the Fake Bake lady another girl sprayed them and only gave them one coat which I said was standard. They really thought that the second coat made a difference. I remember mentioning to them at the time that the guide colour would look darker but that the outcome would still be the same. All interesting stuff. Thanks again for your comments, they have all been really helpful.
