hi does anyone know if there is a free way to get any family tree info???
i am stuck:cry:

There's a free 14 day trial here..............

Free Trial - Ancestry.co.uk

although I reckon you'll end up paying somewhere down the line. I can't see many sites offering a full free family tree service?? HTH

Use FamilySearch.org - Family History and Genealogy Records It's the Mormon site for searching for family members or your family tree. They have birth, death an marriage records, censuses, etc. I've found loads of relatives for my family tree, and it's all free. Best of luck!

I just tried that link Marion...I couldn't find any matches on the family details I entered...I'll keep on trying though xXx

I think the dates you enter have to be over 100 years. So go back as far as you can and try that, going into advanced search (or whatever it is called, or it might be filter results or something, it's a while since I've used it). Hope you find something. x

maroineds 1st post is a good site, but it is not complete, there are a lot of gaps, if your serious about doing a family tree, then I would advise you to use Ancestry.com , they have census data from early 1800 - 1901 , and I think you can pay a months subscription ? do you know what areas you're looking for ? if so then a trip to the record office may be worthwhile and you can access baptism records etc, you do have to cross reference everything though, or you may end up following someone elses tree, which aint good

I use all three sources and I'm doing mine and my partners trees from both parents , its a right task, but fun :)

Good luck :hug:xx

Hi
I know you wanted a free site, however, if you pay £10.00 for the year with genes reunited. You will be amazed about how many people are researching the same family. My mother and I have been doing the family tree and have got back to the 15th century - a lot of help was through genesreunited. Also there is the government record site A2A, they may be able to help espeically if you think one of your rellies was in the army

so char20 could i do a lot of my tree then with just genesreunited

Could be possible. Just type in the name of your ancester and his dob and it generates a list of people with the same name that are on other peoples tree. So by elimination you could find what you are looking for. You could also try googling the name and if somebody is researching the same family, that will also show. People do a one name study so it may be that the name you are researching is in there. Ours were Debenham and Armsby.

If you need any help please pm and Ill try and help, we have been doing our family tree for the past 2 years.
