So I have a client with a natural base of 5. She has blonde highlights using bleach, and goldwell 5R in foils. I have only done her hair twice.

She said that she love these colours, but this time she wants to go brighter, and wants the red to be 'fire engine red'.

I really like gold well coppers and reds, I use wella most of the time, but I am open to what I use for this red.
Has anyone used a bright red for foils before? What did you use? And how long till it faded?

xx

I mostly stick to wella. When I hear fire engine red, I'm thinking an unatural or "crazy color". You have a good opportunity here to introduce a direct dye to her without bleaching her whole head. I'd color her hair using koleston on the roots, color touch mids and ends, then a direct dye like pravana over the whole thing.

Sorry, I missed the part about the 5R. That's too dark for a fire engine red.

Matrix HD RR with 30v, they are RED.. Lift and deposit all in one

I used majicontrast for these reds.

You could foil out the old bleach with 6 rr max :)
