Gel nail extensions qualification

Hi everyone!
I’m currently a student training for a level 2 in nail services. In our course we learn L&P extensions but not Gel extensions.

I have used gel nails quite successfully in the past on myself and found them to be a bit easier than L&P

I was wondering if you need to be qualified specifically in Gel nail extensions before you can do them on clients?

Sorry if this sounds like a bit of stupid question, I just wasn’t too sure as some websites online contradicted each other and left me complete confused and I would hate to do something that I shouldn’t be!

Yes you need a separate qualification to use Gel, different chemicals, different skill set, different risks, different insurance cover
