Hi guys :D

I've recently trained with Izabelle Hammon for Calgel nails and I LOVE them! BUT Calgel is just soo expensive! So I was wondering if you nail geeks could advise me on a cheaper but yet good alternative? Especially seen as I have to build up my experience first and practice, I don't want to be using expensive products like Calgel, but I also don't want to be using crap from Hong Kong from e-bay.

Can any gel nail specialist help me???

Thanks in advance! x x x

There isn't really a 'cheap' option. Quality has its price tag, and for a reason. The best way to avoid dodgy stuff would be to make sure you always purchase from approved suppliers of whatever brand you go for. If you do a wee search there are loads of threads about which gels to use, as everyone has a different opinion. Hope this helps. xx

Hi, is it a soak off gel in a pot (like Calgel) that you want to use? or a hard gel or gel polish?
If it's a soak off gel in a pot then there are some cheaper versions out there (cuccio Pronto, Akzentz, Flexygel) but they probably aren't as good quality as Calgel. Also, as you've trained with Calgel your'e used to how THEIR gel works and using a different system might take a bit of getting used to. Did you not realise how expensive it would be before you trained with them? Have you asked what their reccommended price for a set of overlays, extensions etc is. I would imagine you'd still make a profit and your clients would be getting a quality product.
HTH x

i would think calgel is the price it is for a reason, if they are who you trained with i would continue using otherwise it would be a waste of money. if you change who you are going to use you will have to re train with their products. You cannot just buy quality products and start using them!

just work out your prices according to what you use and then it is not expensive, also you can then advertise yourself as using quality products hth

Hi hun I use Calgel and it is expensive but as another geek has said quality comes with a quality price tag.
I bought the big kit that came with the lamp and everything you need to get started.
Start small with your gels and bit by bit you will see them build up.
Wait it out till you really need to put an order in coz there is no pint ringing every week coz postage will sting you.
You don't have to get everything from them where you can cut down do it eg files, buffs, wonder wipe, nail wipes, foil.
Stick with there gel and solutions and brushes though.
If you have trained with them you may aswell get ya money's worth and use there products, it's what your used to now.
Once you start gettig people in for nails just put your first £10 away m keep doing it like that so you always have money for it.
Hope that helps x
