Google ads - do you get many referrals?

just wondered if anyone advertised through google, i often click on the links at the top of the page and to the side of google searches wondered - wondered if it was worth while doing and if so how it worked and how i could register, plus the cost of course

also what is pay per click, is the same thing ? sorry im sounding thick now, lol

I used Google Ad words a while ago but I've sort of forgotten about it recently - I must try and remember how I did it! I did get a few people looking at my site from it but noone booked in that I can remember particularly but I am blonde so there is always a possibility I am wrong!

From what I can remember of pay per click it is exactly that. I think you set a maximum amount of money and when that runs out you replenish it.
