How many grams or strands would you order just to add colour such as highlights to the hair?

Some clients will prefer more highlights than others so it completely depends on what your client is looking to achieve (subtle highlights or strong highlights?)
Generally you would order at least 3/4 base colour & 1/4 highlight colour - you could do 1/2 base & 1/2 highlight if they're wanting a more highlighted look.
