Been to friends house tonight to do pedicure and underarm wax. Am confused, used a non-strip wax that have used before. Friend had had strip waxes loads before. Anyway half of hairs came out but left half, didnt want to double wax the area so left it. I dont do a lot of underarm waxing but never had this problem. She then told me she used to have her armpits waxed years ago and everytime she went, they found it very difficult to remove the hair for some reason! Made me feel slightly better but wasnt happy. Could anyone tell me (I do mainly nails, not a lot of waxing) if they have ever experienced a type of hair that does not want to be removed? It was not thick hair and not an unusual amount of it either. ???x

hi, was the hair quite short? i find on underarms the hairs can be different lengths some longer than others so a few of the short ones can be left. Also if the hair is very thick and strong it could be difficult to remove with a non-strip wax, did you put anything on the skin before the wax that maybe would stop the wax from sticking properly?
If there is only a few hairs left after waxing i usually just pluck the odd ones that are left.

Was your wax nice and warm so that it went on as though it was a thick strip wax? It your wax was too cool, it wouldn't grab the hairs.

Also, blot under arms dry with a tissue in case your client is perspiring, then apply your wax quickly. xx

Hi girls thanks for your replies. Glad it was only a friend, she didnt mind as had been her experience in the salons she used to go to, tried several and had same problem she said - everyone struggled to get the hairs out yet they weren't dark or thick? Yes, wax was def warm enough and went on as usual. I wonder if the ones left were shorter than the others now and thinking about it she said she had weird hairs which went in all different directions (wonder if I missed that as light wasnt so good-nightime?) Mmm will have to look at the hairs in really good daylight I think. Maybe the ones left were growing in a different direction to others? Was late at night when did armpits and wish I'd insisted on doing in better light. Good job she's a friend. x
