If you prefer your salons a little off the wall, then perhaps the Floating Salon, near Bath, will float your boat. So to speak.
The Floating Salon was set up by Nicola Dawkins who, with over fifteen years experience in the industry, wanted to set up a salon that stood out from the rest. Along with her partner, she bought the 'Blackjack" in 2006 - a canal boat that needed a complete overhaul.
By 2008 the boat was ready and open for business and Dawkins presented the floating salon with an eco twist. The salon is completely off the grid. It runs entirely on three solar panels, its own water tank and a load of batteries. Pretty cool huh?
