hiya I posted the other day about a couple of customers losing their artificial nails. I re-did one of them on tuesday and she said by saturday they had all come off! she has them really long (almost the length of a full nail tip before you cut them down) so she is more likely to catch them but should they still come off easily even though they are really long? shall i ask her what activities she has been doing (or dare i ask that?!!!) and if she wears gloves when washing up/cleaning? I might be gettinga job in a salon a couple of days a week and am so nervous in case this happens in the salon, as its a very highly recommended salon in our town where very wealthy people have their hair done! (I only just qualified in June!) (please see my other post where i state my routine when applying artificial nails)

way too long id say. build up the stress area to prevent breakages but i think she has them too long.

Enhancements don't just pop off there has to be other factors involved.
Length is defiantly a big factor on the strength you need to brig them down a bit as you said find out what she is doing day to day to see if there is something she is doing continually which is causing trauma.

Dont let it get you down hun:hug:

thanks ladies, its so disheartening when you spend so long doing them and they look lovely at the end then end up coming off! (my client has very badly bitten down nails - there isnt that much nail to stick the tip on - could it be that the well of the tip is going onto her skin therefore causing lifting because of her very short natural nail bed?)

You need to have as much nail plate as possible so if the nails are very bitten try sculpting this gives you more of a platform to apply your product.
You could pre tailor your tips so you have the minimum amount of tip attached to the nail plate.

hi thanks for that but because i am new to all this i havent done sculpting before so wouldnt know how to do it! we didnt get shown that at college! (sorry to be a pain) :)

so she is a nail biter with a very small nail bed and has nails applied that are almost as long as a un-cut tip.....????? its never going to work.

She isn't used to having any length never mind a few inches....

She needs to have them alot shorter and get used to the length gradually...if she goes against your advise then fine but ALL repairs are paid for in full.

thanks for that i will suggest it to her. I have never seen nails so bitten as hers are and with me being a newbie I wasnt sure if it would work or not. I just hope she never asks me for a French Manicure!:)(being serious, I know I wouldnt do one of those!)
