Hi Calgel users,
I am just ordering some colours after not using Calgel for a while ! please could you tell me what the diffrence between clear gel and super clear gel ? do i need to buy both or just one of them ? also which pink do you use for french and which white ? when i trained with calgel there was only 1 white and we used 52 as the pink, I thought either 61 or A23 looked good for the pink ????
Any thoughts, advice and help would be great.
Thank you in advance
Janice

Clear gel is used on the natural nail, to build a c curve and under tips.

SuperClear is anti-yellowing and designed to be applied over clear nails or a french finish.

HTHs.

The superclear is meant to be used like a top coat, Not a substitute for the clear (0). It's applied over the top of clear or french to act as an anti yellowing as it's not porous (sp:left:) like the (0), best for people going on holiday or who aren't good with the up-keep of their nails and it needs to be cured for 1-2 minutes. To remove though you need to file top layer off and then soak as it's slightly tougher than calgels clear (0) for above reason:up:, it won't remove as quickly without this being done.

As for french pink i use (43) it has a slight shimmer to it, not alot but it is very delicate and pretty. I also use Competition White (CGCW) for french white as this is the brightest, and this is also what you get trained with as well as (43), both are provided in the kit.

I had a bad experience with the superclear, my own fault to a degree but i would say it's not compulsury it's more down to personal preference and infact i havn't had any need to use it. If you retail Calcrystal to your clients it shouldn't be needed anyway.

Hope this is of some help :D

Sorry to hijack thread....what was the bad experience with super clear? I am just about to start using it and forewarned is forearmed!

It penetrated through the clear gel (0) i was doing french with clear instead of pink and it turned the nails dark yellow, i had to soak of and re-do.
When using superclear it's best to do 1 nail at a time 2 tops then cure as the slower you are/ the more nails you try to cover before curing the more it penetrates as the (0) is pouros.
It was partly my fault but lesson was well and truly learnt.
