I'm contemplating going back to college (yes, I'm college trained with some salon experience) and found out that they are running the HNC course after summer.
What are your thoughts on having an HNC, what will it give me in terms of future career paths? Currently I'm mobile, I really don't like working in salons - maybe it's just the ones I've been in but everyone was quite bitchy and I've had enough of that in my previous jobs and I prefer being able to devote time to one client. It's also so hard to even get a trade test as soon as they knew I was 28 (at the time) I just got blankly stared at as if I was an alien.
Anyway, it's a 12 hour a week course with cutting, colouring, some business and digital imaging and possibly some makeup. I know it would allow me to go into HND make-up...something I might consider.
