I place stones around the body once they are spent, call it cocooning.
  • You could place some under the shoulders once used.
  • You can give the clients spent stones to hold.
  • Before they settle down, you can place 6-8 stones in line with the spine, about an inch either side 3-4 either side, place a towel over and slowly lower the client onto it adjusting as they settle
  • A long flat one would sit nicely on top of the towel over the stomach area.
  • Wrap some stones up and push them up against the soles of the feet
Once you've turned them over and they are lying on their stomach

  • place stones on the soles, on the crook of the knee all over the towel and either spent ones in the clients hands or place them in mitts first
  • place large sacrum stone on top of towel on the client at the beginning of the sequence
  • finish the back with the large chakra stones running up the spine

thank you for your help, i did train doing the above but could not get used to starting on front.
can you tell me what you mean by spent, and my other concern was when im massaging with stones i keep thinking they have lost their heat, how many stones do you use for back? and legs?
thanks for your helpxx

I call stones that have been used and lost their initial heat "spent", they still retain some heat so are suitable for placing around the body as they will not burn the skin.
and my other concern was when im massaging with stones i keep thinking they have lost their heat, how many stones do you use for back?
for back I probably use 6-8 palmstones, 4-6 small stones and 4-6 medium stones, then of course I use the chakra stones for placement
and legs?
per leg, probably use about 4 palmstones, 4 small stones, 2-4 medium stones
thanks for your helpxx

I've given you some guidance on amount of stones used but it all depends on the temperature of the day, the client's heat retention, etc.

thank you for your time and help, sorry just didnt cover this on the day graduate course i done can i ask you what you do with small stones on the back and legs, sorry if i sound thick just want to be able to give the best treatment possible

small stones are used to apply a deeper pressure and pressure points.
