Following on from my thread yesterday asking for leaflet advice, my next question is... How important is a business logo?

I have a home beauty room.. long term I'd like a small salon. I currently advertise on Facebook, but I'm in the process of printing leaflets and dome business cards.

At my level is a logo important?

Xx

Yes, it's very important. You're creating a brand.

Very important, we even have ours printed on the salon walls, uniforms, and our own product ranges! People always comment that the like it and it makes us stand out from the other salons in the area that don't have a logo. Ours was very expensive, I'm sure there are probably cheaper ways of doing it, but was worth every penny! Hope that helps and good luck with it all! L x

Do you offer logo design?
We do but if you take a look at Carl from Verve Design FB page or website he specialises in the Hair & Beauty industry :)

Carl from Verve designs can create you logo to brand your business
www.facebook.com/VerveDesigns plus he offers a Essentials package that every business should have that includes a logo, leaflet, business card design etc and he's very affordable or if you just require a logo there's plenty here to choose from and a bargain too

You need branding for your business so people can recognise you from other businesses. As said above Carl from Verve can whip you up a fab logo at very little cost. He did mine. It makes your business look professional

This is mine

I got a load of leaflets and looked at the format. I found one that was like a square book in a salon in Formby. That was my starting point. We then chose a flower design and a worn logo with a tag line, for the front which is now on all our business cards, vouchers, recommend a friend cards, our website and so on. It looks a lot more professional.

I'm doing a degree in media and I can tell you that students are ALWAYS happy to work for free or a nominal cost to build their portfolio. You'll often get very good work and a much better experience than some of the dodgy marketing and branding companies out there ;) I would suggest contacting your local uni for details of courses that do graphic design or marketing modules and then approaching the lecturers about contacting students :) x
