Am I right in thinking you have to keep client records for 3 years? I've got some from when I first started, can I legally ditch them now?

From memory, I think that's what it says in the small print of my insurance....double check that to make sure.

3 years it is...I have thrown out 2 year old cards. Put them thru a shedder.

Thank you

Not sure on client records - but business records are 5yrs.
Do you need client records for your business records? If so I'd keep them xx

Its usually 3 years for your insurnce purposes, as after that time a client cannot make a claim against you. But, if in doubt check wth youre insurers:hug:

The Limitation Act allows you three years to make a claim after which time it is statute barred.

However, it is three years from the date you reach 18 so you will need to check that none of your client's are minors before destroying.
