I need help!

I qualified as a nail tech in June last year. I became self employed in a hairdressers but due to the recession the business has had to close. I want to apply for jobs but done seem to get anywhere due to lack of experience. how can i get experience. cant drive!

Hi I'm in the same boat as yourself. I qualified as a nail tech in October 2007 but only every did family and friends nails on the side of my full time job. I've now decided I want to do nails and beauty full time and have just quite my job. I am worried I will find it hard to get a job as I don't really have any experience.

Also..what about going to these salons that are saying you need more experience and asking if they would take you on for 6 months to gain experience on Saturdays only and you will work for nothing...i know we all need wages but if its just 1 day a week...and you are not earning anything at the mo anyway....it gets your foot in the door...shows your willing and gets you that experience that you need.
