Hi
I'm setting up in a new area as a massage therapist offering the following treatments:

Swedish massage
Sports massage
Reflexology
Indian Head Massage
Hot Stones
Reflexology
Lymphatic drainage
Deep Tissue
Pregnancy

Does anyone else out there solely offer massage? Please give me reassurance that its doable?

Thank you

Hi
I started out doing just massage. it is doable. i would suggest you do your advertising in places that will tie in with your treatments,
for example gyms (sport) mother and baby groups ( pregnancy) etc

hope this helps

I mainly massage. I also offer manicures, pedicures and facials - but massage makes up around 75% of my business ...but it could easily be 100% if I wanted it to.

Based on what my own clients have told me, people will be more inclined to choose you over someone who offers lots of different treatments as they'll see you as more of a specialist and someone with a passion for massage.

Oh also, I don't offer reflexology but I get asked about it A LOT, so I'd say that you'll be just fine.

I've been told by numerous people that it is best to specialise in something. I'm just starting out but seem to be leaning more towards nails :)

Yes it's doable. The only advice I'd give is to be aware of where you advertise. Are you going to do a male clients? If you are, be sure that a) you're safe and b) nothing you offer can be misconstrued. We are a beauty salon and have still had inappropriate situations with male clients.

My main treatments are swedish massage and reflexology. I have just qualified in pregnancy massage as that's what I have been getting the most requests about. I'm home based and am ladies only due to the fact I've had quite a few men ask me if I offer 'extras' x
