Hi guys,
I am self employed Beauty Therapist. I am considering taking somebody on to cover my days off, holidays etc. I offer treatments that this therapist is not trained in. Is "In house" training recognised by insurance? Would this therapist be covered to offer these treatments if I trained this therapist or would they have to go on training course? I will contact my insurance about this to make sure either way but just wondering would any of you know!
thanks a lot

No she won't be covered. She needs to attend an accredited course to become insured - not necessarily an nvq x

You would need to be a trainer with accredited courses for her to gain insurance. If you're planning to take more staff on, it might be more cost effective in the long term to be able to train.

You would need this teaching qualification:

This is the online version, you should be able to take something similar locally.

You would then need your courses accredited:

There are prices on both links. I know this isn't really the information you asked for, but food for thought...

Thank you both for your replies!
I am actually a Qualified tutor and I do intend to start running courses eventually so that may be the best option!
Thanks again x
