Hi guys, first of all let me say sorry for such a long essay but im really stuck.

I have my very first interview for a beauty salon on Monday and i am absolutely bricking it. I have been trying to get into the beauty industry for 2 and a half years and have got nowhere with it. I done a 1 day waxing course last year and i also done a 3 month work placement in a quiet beauty salon which was mainly just reception work and i have also got a home learning course which is so hard i cant do it,i have tried for college twice and haven't got in. I got in with a man through the jobcentre who was looking into getting me into the industry as an apprentice and he wrote off to all the salons in my area and finally after 8 month Ive got an interview but the problem is that i have no experience and although the woman knows i have a waxing certificate and am not fully qualified im not sure if she will be willing to train me and i have no idea what to expect. Im going to go dressed smart/casual as i dont have a uniform anymore. Im really worried about the questions that i will be asked as i have no idea how to answer them, i have never been for an interview in my life and i feel absolutly clueless and i think i will struggle a lot especially if they ask me why i want to become a beauty therapist, what i like about it, main strengths/weaknesses, why should they hire me, what i like best and least and when they say tell me about yourself and i have no idea what questions to ask them. Again im sorry this is so long but i really feel stuck, any advice or tips would help a lot.

Thanks x

The most important point that i can see in your questions is whether the lady would be willing to train you or not,
the thing is if she is not a qualified trainer and can not issue you accredited certificates there is no point in her training you anything as you would not be able to get insured to work on the public,
as it stands the only thing you will be able to get insurance for is the waxing (if the course was accredited)
if she just shows you how to do treatments and then lets you get on with it you would both be breaking insurance rules, (you could end up in court been sued by a client if anything went wrong)
and if you ever left there to work anywhere else you would have no qualifications so would have gained nothing,
don't want to upset you hun but i don't want you to waste your time either when you could be getting the correct accredited training,
ask her if she can give you accredited training and issue you with certificates and which company she is accredited with,
then check with the company that she is telling the truth hth
