Okay so i haven't worked in a salon in 2 years and have just been called for an interview next week, what should i freshen up on before going in any idea of what kind of questions i could possibly be asked?

soooo nervous but want this so bad!

Oh this time next week you will wonder what you were worrying about.
You will need to do a trade test most probably, which can include anything they want. Usually it's painting and waxing. At my first trade test i had to paint one hand red and the other in french. I waxed a leg (she was saving the other for someone else LOL) and did a facial massage.
In the place I work now,all I had to show them was waxing. They asked my why I wanted the job and that was it.
They do like your waxing speed to be up to scratch. So I would say practice at getting your waxing up to speed and you may want to go over your facial massage routine and then your polishing.
I'm sure you will be fine. They understand that you may be nervous. I was shaking like a leaf. I hate people watching me. But everyone gets through it.
Good luck hun, do let us know how you get on

Thanks for the reply Kylieb :) Im fine with nails and waxing because I have been doing that all along but Massage... the thoughts of someone watching me after so long scares the life out of me!!!
Should I wear a tunic?
Im pretty big into Gel Nails too so i always have them long and crazy, would i be best cutting them short and doing them french?

If you are going to be doing waxing etc or a facial - I would turn up in a tunic and look professional as if you mean business, It will also give you more confidence as you are already in professional mode-if you get what I mean.

It will also give your potential employer an idea of how you look in uniform even if its not the same as theirs.

Good luck!!

Just wanna say good luck hon xx xx

i would get rid of long nails :) but ask about it in the interview most places hate long nails
also i was always asked the question why should i employ you and not any of the other applicants?
i have never found a good answer for that question :(
good luck xx

I would turn up in what they expect you to look like at work. I would go in my full salon uniform, light day make-up, no jewellery and no strong perfume...oh and a big smile :) Always look confident even if you're not feeling it.
Just grab a few of your friends and go over your massage routine and you will be fine  xxx

Pretty much what everyone else is saying. Smart appearance, clean hair, best wear salon wear.
I ask people to decribe themselves as a person, ask what their strongest most confident treatment is, and what treatment is their least favourite.

Thanks so much guys :) really hope this works x
