Hello Guys

I am opening a tanning salon and am looking for a full time beauty therapist (the only one) - i was going to supply all products and split the profits of each treatment 50/50 is this the right way to do it or should i pay them a set wage?? Any thoughts on this??
Thanks

You take a percentage from the self employed and you pay a wage to an employee, so firstly you need to decide the path you're going to take:)

I think it would be more cost effective to get someone self emp but is 50/50 a fair deal to both sides (i would pay for products)

That would depend on your profit margin. If it is more than 75% then giving up 50% is fine. Bearing in mind that 50% of salon turnover is now taken in taxes in various diguises, I would be making a loss on a 50% of turnover deal.

Self employed % of takings has important tax and VAT implications on both sides that need looking into
