hi
I work in a salon and they are going to train me in salon on Nouveu lashes, im thinking of doing the course anyway jus so i can get insured outside of work. do i need to do this or will in salon training be ok?

If i have to do it outside the salon i will probably go with flirties, has anyone used them and how have you found them??

Im struggling for ££ at the min but know i would make a killing knowing how to do the lashes, does anyone know of cheaper ones that i could do that are just as good ?
:D
Thanks

i'm n ot sure if it would be enough to just do the training where you work so can't give any advice on that side, but i did my lash training with flirties and thought the training was just ok to be honest, i felt lost at the end of it when it came to dif lashes etc and ended up doing alot of asking questions, reading up, watching youtube videos etc though the trainer i had has said she will be addding more info into the training which will be a great addition i'm sure. i posted about it in a thread not so long ago and one of the flirties trainers said the training was just to show you the basics and recomended going on an advanced course with another company so if money is an issue right now then that's something to bare in mind. one of the great things with flirties is that the marketing leaflets (before and aftercare on) are free which is fab and will save you alot of money in the long run, though apparently they are changing the marketing look and i'm not sure if they will be dropping the current leaflet look entirely but that's another thing to bare in mind - what kind of look you want for yourself if you want to do the lashes in your own time outside of work. i didn't want a super classy high end look, i wanted something that was young and funky looking. i haven't a clue about working in a salon or contracts but i've read a few posts on here where people have had it written into their contract that they can't work within so many miles of the salon etc etc - like i said i don't know about things like that it's just what i've read on here so it might be worth you checking out your contract?

i think assuming you will 'make a killing' just by doing training is a bit naive to be honest. reguardless of who you train with you will still need to do lots of practise aswell as advertising which take time and some advertising does cost. don't forget that the rrp of lashes (i think flirties is £85-£125) is dependant on your area and your experience. don't get blinded by £ signs.

I dont think im nieve about making the money i have many friends and friends of friends and family that want them done regularly willing to pay that for the lashes. Also i will be having lots of practise as i said they are training me in work to do them and have many client waiting to be models.

we have nouveu lashes at work is it a much different training with different companies?

I also already have a website set up and i dont work within the area of my salon

don't just rely on the word of friends and family and their friends. everybody wants everything doing when you mention it but from reading posts on here and my own experience people soon change their mind.

i have been watching lots of videos on youtube and tutorials for individual lashes and they all show the same thing it seems - 1 tweezer to seperate 1 tweezer for the lash extension but i'm not 100% sure if everybody does the same thing. it seems there is a big difference in products from company to company though from what i've read - especially when it comes to glue though to be honest that's not something i have bothered with as i'm happy with flirties for the time being.

there are lots of posts about lash extensions - def do a search on here and see what others have said. some people wont reply to the same posts as they are posted time and time again that they can't be bothered and it would be a shame for you to miss out on something important that's been said in a previous thread. def do your own research too - a simple google search will bring up a few different companies, see what they have to offer. don't just go for the cheapest, but that doesn't mean the most expensive is the best either.

have you spoken to any insurance companies to ask if training in the salon will be enough? because you might be going over all this for nothing :) x
