I’ve used a couple of different brands but I cannot get the silicone pads to stay stuck down to the eyelids. Tried keeping them whole and cutting them down. Anyone got any tips?

I know what you are struggling with and I have adopted using small pieces of micropore tape to anchor down the two ends of the shield and sometimes the middle if the client has a golf ball shaped eyeball.
I really clean the grease from the eyelids as some clients have very oily lids.
I curl my pads slightly by warming them up and rolling them and this can help with improving the application of the shields.
Cutting the shields depends on the eyelash line length which you can only measure when the client is in front of you.
Hope some of my suggestions help you, if you are not doing them already. ;)

I find very cheap basic brands work best. They seem to be more flexable.
