Hi i am just coming to the end of my level 2. I have had a trade test for a salon and am awaiting a reply. would it be best to have salon experience for a year before doing level 3 or going straight into it. my college are holding skills tests at the moment for anybody thinking of level 3 but not sure whether it will be a good idea to go straight into it or not. thanks :p

id do it while you can , if you get over a certain age you have to pay for it!

Level 3 is basically competition work... you do learn a few wild and wacky haircuts and ways of colouring etc... and it is a useful qualification to have ... salon managers would choose someone with a level 3 rather than someone with just a level 2!
