hey everyone,

i've been working really hard on my prep because my main problem is lifting. and i'm really thrilled to find that my nails are no longer lifting at the cuticle.

(i bought the nail class book and it is amazing!)

so my problem now is that i'm getting lifting that starts at the bottom of the side walls, and its working its was up.

i have unfortunaly thined my nails alot while practicing so i have to cut them right back and i have no natural free edge to apply a tip to, so if its a white tip i have about 3mm of the tip glued to my natural nail.

i thought that was the problem so i redid my nails using natural full well tips so that i could apply them properly and securly but i still have the same lifting.

could it just be that my nails are so thin?

any suggestions would be helpfull
thanks

Having overfiled nails will really not help with lifting..but I guess you won't be doing that again :)

But I suspect your getting lifting /pocket lifting because your not pressing your product firmly enough at the sidewalls.....at a guess you are mainly concentrating on free edge and cuticle areas, but the sides needs pressing too or they won't seal and your get lifting

Give it a try and see what happens :) xx

i definatly wont!
i feel really stupid cos i've ruined my own nails, and i'm supposed be training to be nail tech!

i think i pat it down, but i cant say definatly. maybe am concentrating so much on the cuticle area the rest is bein forgotten.
thanks i'll make sure i do pat n see if it makes a difference

lol indeed no patting.... just pressing

Also when using your brush at the side, turn your brush so it's not flat.

So when doing the right side of the nail turn your brush slighty right, same on the left turn your brush slightly left, this way it keeps your brush flush with your nails.

Good luck hun x

thanks, i do turn it and check the angle at diff zones ect so im hoping its just the pressing that i'm not getting right.

if that fails maybe it is just my nails are so thin it wont hold?

Make sure your application is thin...too be honest I have done lots of overfiled nails and not really had too much of a problem with the product lifting.

If its only a little lifting this maybe down to your thin nails, but if your getting quite a big area of lifting this would most likely be down to your application hun

Keep it thin, press and push the product into place and your get there :)

xx
