MMA Information

Hi Geeks I hope you are well today,

I have had my copy of Professional Beauty mag today and found an article about MMA (methyl methacrylate). Now I am quite new to the nail industry and would like to know/read more about this. I have looked on some of my treatment bottles and noticed that in the ingredients it has listed methacrylate but not methyl methacrylate. I have searched and looked on the forums of this site but I would like more information could anyone please reccomend any reading material that may be available on this subject.

I have searched and looked on the forums of this site but I would like more information could anyone please reccomend any reading material that may be available on this subject.

Thanks both of you, when you have a good look there is lots of information about (spesh on this site ). I was not told any of this in my training when I think about it I was only given minimum advice about products and the chemicals used. It should be a priority in training I feel.

Some of this info is out of date (2001)

The Doug Schoon article and that of Sam Sweet are both up to date. Plus here is a link to the Habia website with the most recent statement on the subject: http://www.habia.org/uploads/NMC_MMA_final_on_new_logo.pdf

The out of date info talks a lot about the scary bits. This is not accurate
