Mobile spray tan...How much to charge??

I should be up and running by mid october but still a little unsure on how much to charge for a full body spray tan??

The salons in my area charge £15 - £20 and some charge £10 on certain days of the week.

Obviously il be spending money on petrol too? So i would of thought £20 wud be about right?

Also how much should i charge for the first month or so, as i will have just passed the training and have little experience? Half price??

Does it take long to get it right??

I offer a mobile and home based service....I charge £25 for mobile tanning and £20 if they come to me.

I charge £20 for a tan and most people around me are £15 - £25 pounds. I work mobile qnd home based, although everyone so far has wanted to come to me. Although I do offer a discount if they bring a friend.
I have the new 1hr tan and I am charging an extra £5 for this, although I am letting my current clients try it for the normal price, then it will go up the next time

Hi i charge £17 for a full body tan most other salon/mobile therapists range from £12- £22 round about me, i only trained in July so this was an intro price i was going to put it up to £20 soon but will wait and see, i wouldnt charge any less than this.

Imjust starting out to and i am doing a offer from 5th-19th oct full body £10 and after that it will go up to £20 unless its a party with 5 or more tans then it will be £15

it is a difficult one deciding on what is best to charge and unfortunatley the only way really is to check the competition out and go from there.
When establishing a buisness it far to easy to go in cheap...if your trained right and are good at what you do dont undersell your services...likewise dont be unreolistic.
Whichever route you go the cost of treatment should be no ,ore than 5-10% of the charge you make for the service.

Remember its easier to lower your prices than to increase them...start reasonably and if needs must offer incentive deals with a small discount...possibly some form of loyalty scheme etc etc :hug:

I've been researching this all day.

From what I can gather salons in my area are £20-25, mobile is £17-22.

I think I'll start at £25. I'd like to offer a premium service with disposable thong, hair cap and sticky feet. I think at this price it gives me wiggle room for introductory offers, specials and reduced prices for parties.

I charge £15 for standard tandare 10% and anything more (using the drops) i add a £1 I will be enticing the more darker tan goers to the 18% at an introductory price at £17 and then it will be £20... I do £10 tan if you recommend a friend and £10 tan if there are 4 or more of you!
Unforunately I cant charge anymore simply because there are loads of people around who charge £15! But I am hoping to cash in on the stronger strengths!

Also if your just starting out why not text all the girls in your phone offering them a tan at £7 - £10 on the basis that they tell you every good and bad points so when you do have proper clients you cant go wrong...then they will bring their friends!!

I did this i charge £15 per tan but started off at £7.50 with the vue that I got feedback I did this for 1 month which was long enough for me to be confident with the job I was doing including putting the tent up and down like a professional! then I did a special summer offer for 2 months for £10 and now I am up to full price and I will only be giving discounts for group bookings or 4 or more...Good luck with it I really enjoy it I find it really social a big change from my office job!!

How long did it take u all to get it right? Did u have any mishaps in the first month or so. I have worked like crazy for the last week, tryin to advertise and spread the word, created a group on facebook too, which i had a great response. Have booked 3 partys and one single for the end of oct which is great considering i havnt actually started yet! I just hope i get the nak pretty quickly lol :s

So i need insurance asap! Is that all i need? xx
