Hi all.
I have beed qualified for nearly two years now but im only just starting to build towards feeling confident enough to do clients. Over the last few years i have mainly been practicing on my own nails and the odd family memeber or friend. I have been a member of salon geek for quite a while quietly listening in the background and have finally built up the confidence to post a pic.

So here is a pic of my good hand. I have attempted nail bed extension as i have quite short nail beds, on tips. I know that my smile lines need improving, i struggle doing them on my hand getting a good angle to keep them even and i tend to still be applying them quite thick hence it takes me about 5 hours to do my own... :o

Can you see anything im doing wrong? Any advice would be greatly apreciated. Be blunt with me i can take it... Also do you think there good enough to be able to start doing clients?

Thanks :)

doing your own nail is tough, you did a good job! the only thing i would do differently is narrow them, they look a bit too wide and the stiletto/almond shape should elongate the finger not the opposite:)

Thankyou :) do you think there good enough to do on clients yet?

fab job, The only thing that jumped out at me is that they are much too hippy (wide). I would take an abrasive to them and narrow them down.
Thanks for sharing:hug:

yay thanks! xxx

I thought you would like to know i have taken your advice and filed them down. they look much better now! Has anyone got any tips on achieving a deep and crisp smile line?
xxx

Great:) you should post a new pic of them now that they're "fixed":) as for the smile line, using the reverse method is the easiest, most fool-proof way to get a deep, perfectly crisp smile line, imo. if youre not comfortable with that method, use the tip of your brush to push the corners of your smile line up the nail bed and then backbrush to refine the line. hth:)
