I'm just wondering if any mobile geeks do nail repairs? I do but I'm not its worth my while once you take the costs of products & petrol out of it.

If any of you do, how do you price it??

Only do nail repairs on the appointment day booked, and set a minimum call out fee so for anybody that expects you to pop round and repair one nail for free, make all clients aware of this when your at the first appointment....I have it stated on the bottom of my price list I give them, then people are less likely to expect you to come out to repair a nail foc.

Hey if its in my town (very small town 5min max to each area) then I do them at a price. If they are from out of town I tell them over the phone and in person that I dont do repairs for mobile, I say to them you are welcome to pop to mine at so and so time if you like (they never do, so they have been givent the choice anyway, then they cant moan when i wont come out, becuase they have been given the option to come to me).xxxxxx

I do exactly same as previous poster, I inform client really busy but more than welcome to pop over to me when I am at home. If it is a regular I would always try and fit in if it was urgent. x

I charge £10 call out, if its just for 1 nail, or give option to come to me.

Hi All,

I've just come across this thread, as I'm having the same problem!

I did a set of acrylic nails yesterday, and the lady text me today to say that one has snapped off.

I immediately though, oh no, what did I do wrong (only recently qualified so lacking in confidence!)
I text her back to ask what happened and she didn't respond. I've since stopped being so hard on myself after worrying about it all day, thinking that it's something I've done, as she has 3 young children and hasn't had acrylic nails for ages, so she could have easily caught it on something.
She text back asking when I could repair it. I text back to say that I could do it this evening but I have a £10 minimum call-out charge as I work mobile, and have to cover my costs.

Was I wrong to say that I have a minimum call-out charge? She lives 9 miles away from me, and it's quite a distance to travel for a £2 nail repair.

What does everyone else think?? Was I too harsh, and if so, what should I do if I have this situation again??

Laura x
