Nail Technician & work experience

Hello

I'm due to start a Nail Technician Course in the New Year, but wanted to know whats the best way of getting work experience. Am I able to work in a Salon? or do the salon's require you to have the qualification first? How does it work?

It might be a good idea to enquire at some local salons to ask what their criteria is, ie whether they would want someone to have experience/certificate beforehand.
