Hi all iv recently just done a couple of nail courses manicure and pedicure and a gel course and plan to do some more courses soon like nail art ect.... But in the meantime i plan to start up my mobile nail business and wondered if any of you lovely ladies had any useful tips for me? Xxx

:DCongrats on completing your courses! What kind of tips you looking for? Business setup? Pricing? Attracting clients? Storage?

Hi thanks for replying Anna business set up, pricing, and attracting client would be great thank you xx

Ok, so setting up a business is dead easy. Just have a browse on HMRC and give them a call if you have any questions, they are super helpful.

You also need insurance, if you don't already have some. Sometimes your training provider gives you an offer for a specific company, if not there are loads around.

Best of all, practise your new skills and enjoy what you do! If you're nervous and lacking a bit of confidence, don't worry, we've all been there! :D

I've got all of my current clients from word of mouth, family and friends, so I can't rly advice you on that. However I'd really recommend setting up a website, fb page, etc. with your information, as its great for ppl looking to contact you.

Pricing is a tough one, as it depends on what you're offering, what kind of clients you want to attract and what they are willing to pay. Have a look around what salons and other techs are charging in your area and place yourself where you want to be. Don't undercut and don't ve afraid to charge what you're worth, instead run an offer for a specific time or something. :)

Thank you so much for all this great info much appreciated and taken on board!

Best of luck! :D

After several appts when I was sat on a low chair, sometimes with arms [emoji33], or a high table (severe armache with a new set!), even a round dining table (pain in your side next day from twisting) or sat in a dark corner, I decided to invest in a lightweight portable gas lift stool from Ellisons , a portable lamp, and a portable collapsible nail table. I didn't half have some stuff to lug round but at least I could be sure of sitting somewhere decent and having a good light! I'd just go straight in and ask where their power points were! X

Edit to add: and I still use the stool and table years later!

Definately one of the challenging things being mobile is using what table and chairs people have.... and the angles you have to sit at can be very uncomfortable!
A good daylight lamp is a definate as some peoples rooms are very dark.

This is similar to my old one, I'm about to order it. It was brilliant, didn't create heat (as it makes your gels run & your l&p set too quickly) and is easy on the eyes even after many hours
