Hi all,

I am looking for some advice regarding a new business.
I started studying beauty NVQ level 2 when I left school but my confidence got the better of me and I didn’t feel I was good enough I love having all treatments done and my dream job has always been to own a salon but I have heard this isn’t feasible not doing the treatments yourself. Since leaving college I have run a medium size printing business so I have a good understanding of business and management. Does anyone have any advise on setting up without the beauty qualification behind them?
Thanks

In my extensive experience, spa and salon employees respond better to and have more respect for managers who've done their job - or at very least, have taken the training. It's hard to manage/give feedback/train therapists when you have no idea how their job is done. However, one way I've seen it be done is by the owner hiring someone as the manager who has such experience/training.
