Can anyone tell me how long the notice period is for an employee, as stated in the NHF contract please?

Most people opt for one month but this can be varied depending on what’s agreed between the employer and employee. However, it’s common for staff to be placed on garden leave once they hand their notice in to prevent them poaching clients.

Didn't realise it was an optional bit, thought the notice period was actually part of the contract worded by them!
My friend refused to sign it and threw it away but now needs to know what the notice was!

Apparently it stands as she was issued with one, it doesn't matter if she didn't sign it.
Is this wrong?

For a contract to be enforceable, it needs both parties to agree to the terms within it, that’s why signatures are used as evidence of agreement.
However, it also depends on other factors such as what was discussed and agreed (if anything?) immediately after she refused to sign it.

Your friend needs to speak to an adviser specialising in employment law.

Surely this has all happened quite quickly, if I had an employee that didn't want to sign the contract I wouldn't continue to employ them...

If I was her I would give 1 week
