NSI UV gel nail colours?

Hi all,
Iv got the NSI uv gel nail extension products and iv used quite a few different brands in the past all with different methods etc.
Iv got a sample of some of the coloured uv gels, such as sangria and rainbow sparkle, just to recapp, with the colours do i still need to use the clear builder gels before applying a coat of the coloured gel, or is the coloured gel strong enough to be applied on its own?
