Can anyone explain the difference between an NVQ & a VRQ. im confused.

Hi, I can help as I have just finished VRQ level 2.
. NVQ is gained by working in a workplace whilst studying at college.
. VRQ is gained at college alone
For instance I had to do VRQ as I didn't work in the beauty industry.
From what the tutors say at college, both are very similar

so how much wrk can a student do in a salon placement if they r studing VRQ L2, should i b letting them loose on clients? once your L2 is comleted are u then fully qualified 2 take on a clientel?

I'm not sure on the 1st question, give your local college/city & guilds a call to confirm?
Yes you're fully qualified to work in a salon, but I guess It depends on confidence & skills the student has gained to be 'let loose'
If the student has a work placement, shouldn't she be doing an NVQ?
