% of retail sales when self employed?

Hi everyone,
I'm sure this hasn't been asked I have tried to search for this answer.
I know it is really common to work on a 60/40% split on treatments to the person who supplies products but what about selling retail products? Do you still give them 40% if they sell a product?
Any help appreciated x

Oh right! Feel slightly stupid now lol. So say they sold a cleanser that I bought in for £30 do I give them 10% of £30? Sorry if I sound silly! Just confused with the self employed thing x
