Opening hours - is it worth changing?

Hi all,

What are your opening hours and what are your busiest hours?
many salons around me closes around 6pm. and many opens at 9am.
i open at 10am but mornings arent busy, dont know if it would change if i opened at 9am?!

What is the latest you stay open? and does it worth it? (spring-summer)

I open at 9 and always have a 9 o clock appointment's but my salon is next to a school . I close at 4 Tuesday Wednesday and 7 Thursday Friday works for me

My hours
Tues 9-5
We'd 9-8
Thurs 9-8
Fri 9-5
Sat 9-1

However I never stick to them evenings are always full so stay later on a tues and fri, tonight I finish at 6.30. Sats are all or nothing for me so I put 1 for quieter times otherwise I won't stay later than 4.

I always have people In first thing too.

I work around my own life working from home and having a school age child.

I fill my 9-3 slots Monday to Friday first and of course, if they can't do those hours I will offer Tuesday /Wednesday when my son is at activities in an evening.

If my first appointment of that week books in for the Wednesday for example I try book other appointments on that day, filling one day at a time rather than appointments scattered all over.

I find that no two weeks are the same so I remain flexible which generally helps me with not turning people away. Not sure if it would work in a shop but I know I don't get walk ins, they all contact me first.

This is a really interesting thread for me because i'm just about to start up a home salon. I'm thinking my hours would be Tuesday and Friday 9-5 and Wednesday and Thursday 10-8.

We are open
9 - 6 on Monday and Tuesday
9 - 8 Wed, Thurs, Fri
10 - 6 Saturday

But we are often open outside these time!

Hi. We are open:

mon to fri 10-9
Sat 10-7
Sun 11-5

In December we open 9am on Saturdays . All year round we sometimes run over on a Sunday to fit more people in so often stay later.

We are busy both first and last thing-but we are big on sunbeds which help us in evenings.

I'm actually contemplating opening at 9am instead of 10am

I find that my quietest day is a Saturday, and my busiest a Thursday! Is anyone else the same?

I am often here outside of those hours and in the salon at 8am every day regardless.
