Am I right in thinking if you don't have your electrical equipment pat tested and there was a fire in your property because of a faulty hair dryer for example. Does this mean your insurance would not cover you?

What if all the equipment was bought new? Does it not come with a 12 month warranty type thing?

You're probably OK with new equipment but why not ring your insurance provider as they all set their own terms of business and then you'd have peace of mind.

Also, think about having the electrical wiring in the salon checked regularly as that's just as likely to cause a fire as much as a dodgy hairdryer.

Yea if new then it's a year from new is covered, after its a year old you have to get it pat tested, I have to get mine done I bought it all last Xmas so it's overdue now

Okay thanks for your help
