hi

was just wondering is it a massage in a facial or full body massage also?

i would think improved skin tone, the client feels good about herself afterwards

Ok so Physical effects of facial massage would be aids desquamation, skin would be nourished by the creams or oils applied. Pysiological effects would be things like increased lymphatic flow, sebaceous gland activity would be increased, relaxes the mind.

The different types of massage movements also have different effects such as

effleurage would relax, increase circulation, sooth nerve endings
petrissage would stimulate lymph and blood flow, removing waste products and improves cellular nutrition
Frictions would break down adhesions in muscles and loosen scar tissue
Tapotement revitalises tired muscles, increases circulation and warms the area being massaged
Vibrations would stimulate and help to clear nerve pathways and relieves tension so inducing relaxation.

Hope that helps.
