Hi everyone,

Just need a bit of advice. I am currently doing mobile spray tanning in the evenings and was considering finding a room to rent in hairdressers or beauty salon one/two days a week to do spray tans.

Does anyone else do this? and is it worthwhile?

What price per day would be resonable to pay to rent a room?

thanks x x x

Hiya, I rent a room at a hairdressers, well 2 rooms, and I also have my nail desk out on the shop floor, one room is for treatments such as waxing etc, and the other room, well it is a really large cupboard lol I use for spray tanning. I think the cost of renting a space varies from place to place, I pay £25 per day, but it could be more in your area, why not give a few of the hairdressers in your area a call and ask if they have any free rooms that would be available to rent, that's what I did and found an ideal place, they hadn't really thought about it untill I called hth x

thanks for you reply. Do you think it would be worth doing spray tanning one/two days a week in a salon?

I think I will call around some hairdressers tomorrow x x

It all depends really, if you have a large client base already then maybe?? If the salon was in a busy part of the town with a lot of passing trade it would be better, is it only spray tanning you do?? you would have to make back your rent for the day and also to cover the cost of any products used before you are into any kind of profit. After you get an idea of rent costs it will be easier to work out in your head how many tan's you would have to do to break even, and from there decide if it was likely that you would have clients on top of that to make a bit profit.
Using good solution with good outcomes is important of course, word of mouth is a great form of advertising, and making sure people knew you were there, maybe an a-frame outside, leaflet drop etc to get the fact you would be there known.
Let us know how you go calling round tomorro xx
