I would like to know your opinions on Rio lamp...11 watts
I fear it doesnt cure gel as good as my old lamp...do I need to leave the hand for more than 3 minutes?I cant remember the watts of my old equipment...

Unfortunately wattage has nothing to do with the UV output of the lamp and it is the UV output that is important. Wattage is merely an indication of the amount of amperage the light unit is using. It is the bulbs that make the difference not the watts.

The Rio lamp is not a professional lamp and most likely the bulbs are old as well.

Are you using Rio gel as well? Again this is not a pro product and way down the scale as far as quality goes. If you are using another gel then you need to have a UV lamp that is appropriate for THAT gel. different gels in many cases require specific uv Lamps.

I am assuming that you are not a professional if you are using something like Rio. Be careful ... gel that is not fully cured (and you cannot tell with your eyes) is a big allergy hazard.

hello hun
Exactly what I expected to hear...I am a professional and I had a fantastic German brand which I can't remember right now....but unfortunately it is not working...I want to get a new one but I have some clients tomorrow that want gel.A friend of mine gave me that lamp and it seemed bad as soon as I saw it but I desided to ask you before using it...
I think it is better to cancel my appointments and get a new lamp similar to the one I had tomorrow :)
And no...my gel would never be RIo ..lol ....I mainly use Creative
thanks again guys
xx

Can you not get hold of the Creative Brisa Gels and the lamp that goes with the system?

Brisa gels have fewer photoinitiators (which is why it does not heat spike) in the gel so it needs bulbs with a higher output of UV to cure it. A Rio lamp would definitely not cure Brisa Gels.
