Salon software

Hi everyone,
Not been on for so long! But I need advice!

In my beauty salon I am thinking about updating my salon software. The one I have is 10 yrs old & I just use it for booking appointments & cashing up etc. it does have other features on but nothing I use.

I am wanting my software to:
Book appointments
Client record cards inc conta indications etc
Devise a loyalty scheme
To be able to access at home on laptop/iPhone & in salon on main PC
To text out marketing offers to specific clients

I have had phorest to see me today & I love the system so much especially the treat card scheme. The only thing putting me off is the monthly maintenance costs. It is £1950 + vat for software plus £59 a month for middle monthly cost package which includes on line booking. The cheaper monthly cost is £45 but you don't get many benefits

Any suggestions? X

I have a sunbed and beauty salon and use Salon Software (previously intersalon)

It can do all you are looking for although for the contraindications, I scan the forms in and add it into the clients file on the system - I can see what it says by going to the system and opening the file, it doesn't take long but not as easy as just seeing the info instantly.

I pay £20 a month and that includes our website.

Customer service is always very helpful and quick.

I looked at Phorest and it looked amazing but I couldn't justify the cost. I found for me that this one does a lot and was a more affordable alternative.

Hi Michelle,

Another option is Snip Salon Software. It does:

Appointment scheduling
Client history
Reporting (including client retention)
Remote access (works on laptop or iPhone)
Automatic appointment reminders

Keep in mind when you're looking at the prices for these products that it may actually be MORE expensive to use "free" pen and paper than a software product. If a program's appointment reminders can save you from two no-shows per month, and a no-show loses you $40 a pop, then anything up to $80/mo for the software and you're saving money.

I have just looked & looks amazing! I'm thinking same about phorest costs. I'd of got it if it was just one off £1950 payment it's the £59 a month ontop that gets me!
I'd need the £40 package but looks brill.
I noticed on the record card section a tab at top for loyalty points. How does this work?

Salon Iris. Love it - been using it for nearly 2 years and it has grown with my business. It does everything I can think of and more. Texts are mega cheap - I know I looked at Phorest and found them very expensive! It automatically sends out reminders and I can target specific clients etc. I wanted software loaded into my computer as our internet in the back of beyond land is very unreliable. I have total cloud back up, fab support from the SI team and online booking which has gone down a storm with our clients! Also accessible from other computers/phone etc.

I do. I wasn't keen on buying a computer from one of these companies so after a little thought I decided to keep my laptop at home and take the home computer to work. I have it all linked up to a barcode scanner and a receipt printer with the help of the Salon Iris team. I can now use it for stock control, retailing, marketing etc. I think Salon Iris sell things like receipt printers and they offer full support for the first 90 days which gets you up and running.
