I'm watching the NSI dvd - (again, lol, its my new fav passtime). It's got me to thinking about a question, my first one ;). It's regarding their acrylic attractions product.

Is there a reason why some people choose to use a tip and then overlay as opposed to sculpting with a nailform?

I thought it may have been if your natural nail was slightly longer you wouldn't need to use the tip, but in the DVD, the models nails are very short when just doing a sculpt.

Is it just personal preference?

thanks

For me, I choose whatever is the easiest for me to do a good job.

If the person has no free edge or their nails are paper thin, I usually use a tip. If the person has a free edge, I sculpt.

I personally prefer the look of sculpts though. I hate fidgeting with tips trying to find the right size and all that.

I hate tips and only sculpt, however, I would like to start using because I really do think some people are better suited to tips.

Another good thing about sculting though is it cuts ur costs big time, so I will lkely just use them when needed.

thanks for your replies. I did wonder if it was strength, but apparently if the balance is correct on sculpted, they are just as strong.

When I get my kit, I'm only getting it to do my own nails, until I can find the appropriate course, so will try sculpting first, then try a set with tips, to see which I prefer.

I'm used to having mine done with tips so will be interesting to see what they feel like too. I often get splits in the underneath of my tips, but not through to the acrylic, so thats something I can watch for too.

thanks
