Hi me again (i should have called myself that)!!
i have a client who says she has a shadow on one of her nails i haven't seen it but wondered if any of you could tell me what it is and what to do about it. Thanks

Is this a natural nail, or an enhanced nail?

Is it possible that it's a fill line that wasn't blended properly?

It could be a number of things.

1. It could be the start of a nail infection.

2. It could be a badly blended tip.

3. It could be pocket lifting.

4. It could be lifting lines that have not been removed during maintenance.

5. It could be discoloured old product.

Why not wait and ask when you have seen wha she is talking about for yourself. If it is a darkish shadow, I would suspect number 1.

it is a new french tip with no old product. i have had this on my nails before but didn't think anything of it as when i had my rebalance/infil done ( when i used to pay someone else) it just disapeared. what do you sugest i do?

It is probably pocket lifting, as suggested above.
You will know when you file it down for an infill, just be sure to check for signs of a bacterial infection, although I'm sure you would anyway:green:.

Thanks for that what do you think has caused it and what can i do to prevent it happening again.

improper mix ratio can also cause shadows

Actually, at this point I think this thread is pointless. Not one of us can say for a certainty what this shadowing is until we see pics. Any answers with any meaning can only follow that kind of information. Post some pics and then we'll see.
