Sharpening Eyeliner

Hi!
I always have a major problem with sharpening eyeliner kohl pencils as they're always so soft. I heard a tip about putting the pencil in the fridge for half an hour to harden it, which I tried...still didn't help.
Anyone have any tips? I've wasted so many kohls trying to get them sharpened.

Leave it in there for more than half an hour, just store it in there, it works
