Shellac lamp, what's with the red light?

I recently changed the bulbs in my lamp as had used up my hours, I reset lamp but the red light on the back is always on even though they're new bulbs? Help! Did I not reset properly? X

I asked about this light on my training course and was told it is to let us know the lamp is on - the light goes off as soon as the 10 sec/120 sec session ends....hth
