Hi,
I've just passed my bio sculpture exam and am trying to get pleanty of practise in, the problem im having is soaking off the gel seems to take such a long time and im often left with little bits of gel still on the nail. i soak off using foils and putting the hands in heated mitts, i'm not sure if im doing enough filling down of the gel before removal though, could this cause the problem?

Thanks in advance for any replies =)

Hi, I have had a problem in the past where i had the flu and one of my clients was goung to a party so needed to go to another tech and she couldnt remove the bio gel that I had applied, causing all sorts of probs. Basically I invited the tech to my salon and asked her to remove mine and the mystery was solved. Like yourself this tech was new and wasn't sure of technique. Ensure you use a decent abrasive ie 180 as the gel is very rubbery careful not to catch clients nail plate and just file the top layer enough for acetone to penetrate. Wrap with foil and do it so the client can still reads mags etc without them falling off as it was found with new tech that foil was not wrapped efficiently and just would fall off if client moved and leave for 15 - 20 mins and then remove one at a time using tool of your choice. I have a cuticle pusher for toes and it is flatter and wider than average and is perfect to remove the gel quickly and safely. I say quickly as the longer you take to remove product once foil is removed it will harden very quickly so product would need to be re soaked taking forever. Basically if all done correctly it should scrape of perfectly like hot wax leaving the nail clean and undamaged. The more you fight the more damage that may be inflicted. With plenty of practise you will get so much quicker. Hope this helps:)

Thank you for your reply, i think it probably is that im not filing enough away, will give that a try next time =)
