Hey guys :)

I am new to this beauty forum thing but i have a feeling i will be addicted very soon!! my name is Topaz and i have been doing nails and beauty for about 8 years( seems crazy when i type it!) so hi fellow beauty people :)

I am moving abroad to a hotter country this year because I want to try something different, where i am moving to I basiclly want to open a small nail station where i can Provide acrylics manicure/pedicure, nail art and eyebrow threading, was just wandering if anyone has done something similiar?? and how you went about it and which products you would reccomend for starting out in a small business? and also if i want to sell some products what would be reccomended, I will be SOOO appreciative of any advice as i really dont know where to start!!

thanks :):)

Hi Topaz i read with interest yur post there, i moved to sunnier climes 4 months ago and was very excited as where i have moved to there is no nail bar in a 20 - 25 mile radius an the girls that are mobile i'd say prob bout 60 % arent qualified to carry out the treatments ..... but several issues yu need to think about (these are only my personal experiences an probs) - the language barrier - if yur fluent in the language then great if not then 1st problem & dont rely on expats for business! then theres the different tax laws, depending on where yu are going accountants which yu may have to have by law are very expensive! if its a holiday destination the rent yu could be lookin at - where i am the average is around 1200 - 1500 euros a month! an then obviously bills on top, then yur supplies too, i've found that where i am is word of mouth so its gettin the locals to have some treatments once yu've won them over hopefully fingers crossed would be laughin! also yur qualifications - yu will certainly have to have yur certificates translated an on view along with yur english copies, can i ask where yur thinkin of going?

Hey Selena

first of all thank you so much for your advice its very interested to read about someone who has the same interest! may i asked which country you worked in?? I am moving to island of reunion which is near mauritius and the language there is french which i am definatley not fluent in, this is something i have to work on before i go! did you have a language barrier problem where you went?? , the main thing i am worried about is because its such a small sland getting my supplies will be difficult, i am going to have to have them shipped over to me regularly... but the good thing is that nail bars are very few over there and i would rally like to introduce something different, plus its a part of EU which makes the work visa problem very easy for me!
