Can anybody shed some light as to why I'm getting spikey lumps in my IBD Intense Seal Gel? It doesn't happen on every nail, but at least 2-3 nails always have a hard spikey lump after curing under the UV lamp. Has anybody else had this before?

It could be that the nail is not completely free of dust before applying the Intense Seal, same thing happens with EzFlow Finish It! if there is a speck of dust lurking on the nail. Are they a bit like spikey bobbles?

hi it also happens if you put it on to thick i had same problem so stopped using it now use ezflow finish it as top coat i found it so much better glaze n go is really good to xx

I have used both Finish it and Intense Seal and have experienced these lil bobble spike buggers with both. I thinks its defo the dust that causes them!

With Intense Seal I had the same problem everytime when I first starting using it but find if you make sure the nail is squeeky clean, apply like polish (not too thick) and get it straight under the lamp I don't get them. My ladies love the glass finish. :)

Are you sure that your clients aren't catching their nails on the bulbs of your uv lamp?
That would cause the 'spiking' that you describe.

I totally know what you are talking about!!!! That happened when I first stated using it, but not lately. Be sure there is no cuticle oil or dust or water or ANYTHING on the nails before polishing. It has nothing to do with the client hitting them in the lamp. I am using the original bottle and haven't changed anything, so I'm just happy it's not happening anymore! Weird.

It could be a few things combined, the following are which I have narrowed it down to.

  • Nail plate isn't dry(a spec of water can pollute the gel to develop bubbles)

  • Dust particles left on nails

  • Light bulbs could be to hot(I pulled one of my bulbs out to reduce the heat, which seems to work much effectively now, even tho I leave my customers under it for about 2 mins longer)

  • Applying product could be uneven(If you don't apply it evenly or thinly it could also bubble)
Have fun ^_^
