Another question for spray tanning techs...well actually, anyone with an opinion who wants to share it with me!

What do you think about having the prices for your services on the back of your business cards?

I have all of my contact details on the front of my cards and was thinking about using the back to list my prices instead of also having to carry around price lists...up until recently I offered a wide range of beauty treatments so have detailled price lists but have had a re-think and for now will only be offering tanning so don't really want to hand out my current price lists as I don't want to have to keep saying to people that i'm not offering such and such a treatment!

Hi Jenny,
some times i think if there is no prices then they need to call you to find out and you stand a better change or selling it to them and getting a booking.
And from past experience when i first started doing nails i got a load of flyers printed up with a discount price and after a few months wanted to put my prices up so couldn't use the rest of the flyers and still got calls saying are you still doing nails for X amount and when i said no they weren't interested.
So it might come back to bite you in bum in the long run xx

I have never had my prices on my cards but it got me thinking because i've seen a few local nail techs doing it so thought i'd pose the question on here....I have not done it for the reasons you have given, there has been many a time when i've thrown out excess printing stuff that hasn't been used!!

Like you say, its better to be able to chat over the phone about prices and products etc...just trying to think of a new approach as i'm looking to gain more clients seeing as i'm only offering tanning now. My regulars are hard at work spreading the word for me, I have introduced a loyalty scheme to encourage return custom and I have a client referral scheme in place.

xx

just a few ideas to fling in there,
you are already doing the loyalties thing so you will have cards ect for that? What about putting the benefits of having a healthy golden tan on the back of your cards or do you offer a top up tan within X amount of days at a discounted price something like that maybe.
Or the benefits that come with being tanned in your own home if you are mobile.

sorry i cant be of any more help xx

I have my prices on my business cards, and give a few of them to my clients who hand them out for me. I find people like to know prices instead of phoning up for them - I know I do and would probably just go to someone who has their prices where I can see them iykwim.
My prices aren't the cheapest, but they are being handed out by someone wearing my tan so people can already see the results.

I can see benefits to both sides, but this way works for me. When I get a phone call from a client it is for a booking, so I don't have people asking for prices and then never hearing from them again.

HTH and good luck  xx

I have rack cards printed at Vistaprint with my prices on..! I usually do a door to door run or hand them out in my local shops! x

As a mobile technician, I avoid putting prices on cards. This is because I like to change my prices depending on how far I have to travel and how busy I am.

For example if a client is 20 mins away I might offer them £35 where as my next door neighbour would get it done for £25. Alot of time is wasted driving so I like to cover the addded time and petrol. If the customer doesnt want to pay the extra, then it isnt any great loss to me :o)

Thank you all for your opinions...I am still debating what to do! xx
